Wednesday Devotional
We can agree that faith in action is powerful. When I trust God, He always responds to my spiritual needs and protects me from the devil (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
Jesus heightened the mighty supernatural reality of faith:
And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. (Luke 17:6, NKJV)
In this verse, Christ used a parable to show the mightiness of God’s absolute sovereignty. Jesus uncovered a faith in God will make the impossible become possible. However, I must understand that God controls every outcome and determines the results.
James, a bondservant of God and Christ, shows faith in action lives by the word.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22, NKJV)
It’s easy to speak God’s word, but the challenge of doing it takes faith. I must put forth the effort and incorporate it into my daily activities. For example, showing kindness to others throughout the entire day radiates the fruit of the Spirit.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23, ESV)
