God’s freeing truth fills itself with eternal promises. No other fact profoundly impacts the human heart and spirit more than the one discovered in His word. My eternal resting place (heaven or hell) depends on my adherence to God’s truth.
Truth and Freedom in Christ
Truth and freedom in Christ is God’s new covenant with humanity. When God delivered Jesus into the world, it changed how we receive His truth and freedom. He now places Christ as the sole entrance into His kingdom, so there is no other way into heaven (John 14:6).
Christ spoke to the Jews about God’s truth and the freedom it brings to a believer. In the eighth chapter of John, Jesus discusses this crucial eternal matter. During this conversation, Christ didn’t hold back and boldly showed their inability to understand this truth. They wanted to stone Him to death at the end of His dialogue with them (John 8:31-59). Their rejection of Christ robbed them of God’s eternal freedom.
Jesus prayed to God for His Disciples to receive the truth.
Christ prayed:
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17, NKJV)
In this scripture, Jesus unveils God’s promise of sanctification through truth. God made the Disciples holy through the truth of Christ’s divine teachings. Since the Lord saved us and made us disciples through Jesus (John 13:35), we also receive this gift of divinity.
Another great consciousness of God’s truth and freedom comes from the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said:
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13, ESV)
Did you notice that the Holy Spirit acts on God’s voice? Christ revealed God’s purpose of the Holy Spirit. Our Father’s truth comes through the Spirit, guiding us to live in His kingdom. As a result of this reality, we gain supernatural wisdom that shows us what God is doing through us and around us,
Once we receive the Holy Spirit, our lives manifest its freeing power (1 Corinthians 1:18). God fills our hearts with divine attributes (Galatians 5:22-23). This incredible experience shows others God’s amazing grace.
My Experience
I’m grateful for God’s love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace. He brought out from the darkness and into His phenomenal light. I owe everything to Him, His Son Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Before God saved me, I lived as an agnostic. Coincidences, pessimism, and skepticism were my outlooks on life. Every time something went well, I chalked it up as a coincidence (this was rare).
Most of the time, my life was full of problems. I always felt an overwhelming impending doom, and my spirit lived in constant cynicism.
And when others would share solutions, I refused to try them because my skeptical heart wouldn’t budge.
God’s truth freed me from those satanic practices. I no longer live in disbelief because Christ and the Holy Spirit’s truth transformed my heart, mind, and soul. I know the reality of sin. God teaches me the significance of repentance, faith, and obedience. He placed me in Jesus and allowed me to discover the Holy Spirit. This is a great freedom and one that I cherish.
Conclusion
As noted, God’s freeing truth is the way out of the bondage of self and into a life filled with His grace. These are a few scriptures highlighting the unison between truth and freedom. There are many more. God frees us through Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension back into heaven.
