One of the most remarkable gifts of salvation is being led by the Holy Spirit. God uses the Holy Spirit to guide us in our walk with Christ. We discover the complete omnipotence of God through the Holy Trinity. And God’s inclusion of the Holy Spirit assures us access to the infinite wisdom of His truth (Isaiah 11:2).
When our Father brings us into His kingdom, He places us in Christ and fills our hearts with the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8). From that point forward, the Spirit’s presence connects us with Jesus’s words and guides us in applying them to our daily lives.
This transforms us from the spiritual darkness into the Light of Jesus, and our ambition in life switches from self-centeredness to one anchored in God’s sovereignty
Spirit-Led Life
A Spirit-led life isn’t spoken by words but lived in Christian action. Nothing pleases God more than to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead. For it’s in God’s Spirit we discover Christ’s love. And this incredible love is highlighted by Jesus’s death and resurrection. Here God displayed to the World His willingness to sacrifice His Son for the forgiveness of sin.
Christ used the Apostle Paul to unveil a life led by the Holy Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23, ESV
As shown above, a life driven by God’s Spirit isn’t complacent but filled with active Christian attributes. Here, we connect with spiritual principles designed by God to show others His undeniable presence.
Did you notice Paul starts with “the fruit” in the singular, not plural?
For example, kindness, goodness, and gentleness are in the background when we express love to others. And joy, peace, and patience show our faithfulness to extend God’s love. Through love, self-control prevents us from responding to others in sinful ways.
My Testimony
The first time I experienced the Holy Spirit, it brought an overwhelming awareness of God’s love. This unexpected and undeserving gift from Christ provided tangible evidence of the Lord’s truth. Unlike any other experiences in life, this profound oneness with my Creator cast out every doubt about God’s existence.
In my Christian journey, the Holy Spirit provides me with inner peace so intense it leaves me without confusion about where it originated. Indeed, it comes from God. Yes, my heavenly Father makes living in His kingdom so satisfying because the Holy Spirit fills my heart with His divine grace.
Nothing in the world offers me matches God’s Presence. No, even though Satan tries to make a separation from the Lord attractive, the Holy Spirit intervenes and displays my heavenly Father’s incredible, unconditional love. This awareness of God’s holiness motivates me to draw closer to Jesus.
I do struggle with spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:10-18). And when I find myself tested by the devil’s relentless efforts to keep me away from Christ, it’s the Holy Spirit who steps in and intercedes with God on my behalf (Romans 8:26).
It’s a Spirit-led life that shows me the difference between salvation and condemnation. God makes His kingdom a perfect example of His divinity.
Final Thoughts
We can agree as we grow more in Christ’s image, our ability to live by God’s Spirit increases. One of the importance of this reality is to keep us focused on His word. A more comprehensive understanding of a Spirit-led life lies in our willingness to seek Jesus with our hearts, minds, and souls.
