Wednesday Devotional
Kindness is loving others by showing a tender heart. This divine attribute comes from God. It extends His grace to those around us, and receiving kindness from others makes a difference because God knew we needed some benevolence.
Each day, God provides us with opportunities to show kindness. It’s not by accident that the Holy Spirit intuitively inspires us to demonstrate goodwill towards our neighbors. Indeed, it’s Christ’s way of using us to shed goodness on a world riddled with evildoers.
Opening the door for someone, expressing kind words to others, and doing other good deeds radiates the spirit of tenderness. We can thank others for helping us and greet people with a warm welcome. These are a few ways we can act on kindness. The neat reality of kindness is that God supplies us with endless ways to use it for His purpose.
Today’s Scripture
Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. (Romans 11:22, ESV)
