God’s Unshakable Love

Love is one of the most cherished experiences on the planet. People pursue intimacy to find comfort. They try their best to unite themselves with a perfect mate.

Who doesn’t want others affection?

Finding lasting love is challenging.

Why is that?

A point often overlooked is love comes from God and is an invisible attribute everyone encounters (Romans 1:20).

We can trace back love’s elusiveness to original sin. When Adam and Eve fell from God’s grace, it separated humanity from the Lord’s love. And from that point forward sin continues to block His affection.

Here’s the interesting part of God.

He never stops caring for us (John 3:16). This truth holds true throughout history.

In fact, both the Old and New Testament attest to His loving nature.

For example, His love for Abraham spared the sacrifice of Isaac (Genesis 22). Let’s not forget His affection for Noah (Genesis 6:9). And Ruth a Moabite whose country God rejected (Deuteronomy 23:3-6) gave her compassion (Ruth).

As if that’s not enough…

The sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ best exemplifies God’s unshakable love.

Yes, Christ’s death shows God’s remarkable fondness for humanity. And when He saves a soul His affection becomes magnified with grace, forgiveness, and mercy.

Here’s why that’s important.

Christ is the entry into the Lord’s eternal love (John 14:6). And when Jesus enters your life, He anoints you with the Holy Spirit swinging open the door to God’s endless delivery of love.

The first thing I need to remember is Christ’s death heightens God’s empathy to redeem humans from sin. It’s in His crucifixion God shows a supernatural love. A love paid in blood with everlasting results.

I’m not stopping there because God’s love through Jesus’s death is only a start.

To connect with the full picture of Christ Deity, then the next step is grasping His resurrection. This amazing reality ensures us Jesus rose from the dead and sits at God’s right hand (Mark 16:19). And this gives testimony to the Lord’s plan to resurrect us in Christ for our place in His eternal resting place.

And on top of that Christ’s ascension into heaven completes God’s plan to save humanity. This extraordinary event shows us God’s never-ending love manifested through bringing us to Him. It’s in the ascension our reality of heaven emerges.

Here’s something we both can agree with God’s love makes us more loving. The neat thing is receiving His affection changes our hearts and radiates to others the impact it has on our lives.

Without His love, I can’t love others the way Christ teaches me to do so. This reality holds true when I need to show compassion to those people I dislike. But through Jesus, I’m able to love my enemies.

We have discussed a few points on the real truth of love. I think you’ll agree with me when I say nothing matches God’s love.

Remember, when you feel unloved, the Lord embraces you with an everlasting affection. How awesome is that?

Good stuff Walter. I used to think I was a loving person. Truth told I had no understanding of love whatsoever. The person I am today had to be loved into existence. That same person still needs His presence and influences to act in love. Thanks for another great post.
