Living in God’s Spirit

I think you’ll agree with me when I say God’s Spirit lives in us and shown to others. The Lord’s Spirit is both internal and external. One is experiencing the inner presence of our Father (living) and the other are virtues radiating His attributes (walking).

Over the next few weeks, I’ll share on walking in the Spirit. I’ll focus on Galatians 5:22-23 bringing attention to 9 significant virtues showing how to walk in God’s truth.

What is a Spirit-Lived Life?

God’s Spirit is the essence of a Christian life. When God saves a soul, then Christ becomes available and the Holy Spirit comes alive. This Trinity leaves no doubt who He is and the reason we exist.

Nothing pleases God more than to live holy. The Bible is full of scripture commanding us to live by the Spirit. For example, Romans 8:11 defines the power of God’s Spirit through Christ’s resurrection. That scripture captures the power of God’s Spirit.

In the Gospel of John, Christ shows us God’s outlook on His Spirit.

Jesus shared this:

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (John 6:63)

Christ shared that scripture with His Disciples to clarify the reason one must eat of His body and drink His blood. (John 6:48-58) We must do the same.

Another manifestation of living with God is the way the Holy Spirit works inside our souls. And again, it comes from Christ.

“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. John 15:26

Here’s something we both can agree on Jesus leaves no doubt the reality of the Holy Spirit. It’s the Helper who guides us in living our Father’s will and shows us Christ’s Deity.

Those are three verses highlighting a Spirit-Lived life. You can find more in the Bible. But they are an excellent demonstration of a Spirit-Lived life.

As shown above, living in the Spirit is an inward experience with God’s presence. It motivates us to radiate Christ’s attributes with others. Since salvation is God’s gift and is free, then it’s our responsibility to become doers of His word.

Join me next week and let’s share the first three virtues of walking in the Spirit (love, joy, and peace).

Hello, Gary, and thanks for sharing. Yes, we are spirit beings, and the way we live apart from the world is by living God’s word through Christ and following the Holy Spirit’s guidance. I must seek God daily and put Christ’s teachings into everyday action. GBY
